Welcome back to OhemaaSpeaks! I hope you guys have had a blessed and productive week. I apologise that OhemaaSpeaks has been “ghosting” for a couple of months, we have missed you, but we are back bigger and better with much more to share with you. On that note, I would just like to share, in relation, to what has happened recently in my home town in London, with the terror attacks on London Bridge and the London fire, on Latimer Road, that us as a community need to stand together and pray for our town, our cities, and our country.
I was on the train, going to Great Portland Street, on Thursday, from Hammersmith and the train announcement said “the next station is Latimer Road”. I then remember that that was where the Grenfell Tower fire was, that had happened on Wednesday morning. Not for one second did I think that the train would pass the building, but it was pretty hard not to notice as the entire building was black and at the bottom of the building all I could see were crowds of people, police, and debris from the fire. It was horrifying.
I didn’t know that I was passing Latimer road, when I planned to go to Great Portland Street, but when I returned home, and had seen the building for the second time in one day, I cried. I cried because I didn’t understand why it had happened and because it was so close to home, it had scared me.
The only thing I could do was pray. I prayed for everyone who had been affected by the fire, prayed for safety and protection and I prayed for the children of the community. During this time I also gave thanks to God for the protection of my own life and my family. We need to learn to love and appreciate what we have as we never know when it could be taken away from us. We need to pray for the world, with everything going on in America, Syria and the United Kingdom we need to put our faith in God.
Isaiah 41:10 (NLT) the bible says “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand”.
We shouldn’t fear anything, because God will guide us through whatever situation we are going through. We shouldn’t be anxious for nothing, because God knows the plans for us. All we need to do it is be still and know that He is God. So keep faith, because our God can do anything and everything, even when everything around us is falling apart, God has a plan to put everything back together. Therefore, I encourage you to keep praying, prayer is powerful.
Matthew 7:7-8(NLT) “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. (8) For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks the door will be opened.”.
Stay blessed, keep praying and look out for more on OhemaaSpeaks.
